Mo and Trudy Kalisky founded The Upper Crust Baking Co. in 1986. Their son, Lorin,grew up learning the trade, and returned to Davis with his wife and children in 2015, to start taking over operations.
They’ve been a staple at the Davis Farmers Market for more than 30 years. The family opened a retail storefront and production bakery in 2019 at 634 G St., Davis. This is the first store for the company in nearly two decades. Previously, it ran a production facility that wasn’t open to the public. Its main source of sales has been through farmers markets.
