A Garden in Every School
Celebrating 25 Years
Davis Farm to School is a unique partnership between the Davis Farmers Market and Davis Joint Unified School District. Since 2000, we have run a garden in every public school and some private schools in Davis. We have an official place within the school system, where we advocate for gardens to be an integral part of school life and curriculum. The longstanding relationship between the Davis
Farmers Market, local farmers and Davis schools is a model for other communities around the country.
Davis Farm to School gardens bring joy, confidence and wonder through nutritional and garden education. Students experience their food from seed to plate. When kids are in the garden, they learn healthy life skills and collaborate with each other in growing their own seasonal food. Garden education plants the seeds for our future food system.

Join us for the
Annual Village
Feast
Each October, we gather to enjoy and honor the bounty of our local farmers, good food and company for an afternoon of dining at communal tables, in the style of a Provençal Grand Aïoli. Proceeds benefit Davis Farm to School and Les Dames d’Escoffier, an organization of women leaders in food, beverage, agriculture, and hospitality.
