April 7th Book Release Party for

The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook

DFM Cookbook cover

On Saturday, April 7th, Davis Farmers Market hosts a book release party for The Davis Farmers Market Cookbook (Mirabelle Press, $24.95). The cookbook's co-authors will be on hand to sign cookbooks, and cookbook gift card holders can redeem their gift cards for signed copies of the cookbook at the Market Shed. Market sellers and prepared food vendors will put the spotlight on recipes form the cookbook. Gift cards will continue to be on sale at Market Shed during market hours until March 31.
Written by award-winning cookbook author Georgeanne Brennan, and regional food writer and former mayor of Davis, Ann M. Evans, the book celebrates one of California's earliest and most renowned markets and the food produced by California's small farms. The cookbook features more than 80 recipes, plus more than 50 full-color photos by award-winning photographer, Craig Lee. The cookbook's foreword is by Chez Panisse founder and food activist Alice Waters; "The story of the Davis Farmers Market" is written by Evans; and "Reflections of a Market Manager" is by Randii MacNear. The book includes eight recipes to adapt to the seasons, followed by four chapters–one for each season–each with about 20 recipes. Each season's recipes will take you through the meal from start to finish.
