At the Market
Open year round, rain or shine, you will find a wide range of fruits and vegetables, including certified organic produce, as well as fresh baked goods, flowers, plants and specialty gifts. Everything sold in the market is either grown by or made by the seller.
Picnic in the Park begins Wednesday, March 17th, 4:30 to 8:30 pm in Central Park.

Break out the picnic blankets because Picnic in the Park is back! Opening the season is the duo, Anderson Gram, with their folk and Americana repertoire with an Irish song thrown in for St. Patrick's Day. The Wednesday Farmers Market continues (now 4:30 to 8:30 pm) and the market is full of late winter and spring vegetables—asparagus, greens, lettuce, kiwis, strawberries, avocados, citrus, apples, nuts and flowers.
The International Food Faire features dinner-to-go for every taste. Food vendors include: Monticello Bistro, The Buckhorn, Woodstock's Pizza, Upper Crust Bakery, Ciocolat, Raja Indian Cuisine, Thai Recipes, The Hotdogger, El Mariachi Taqueria, Kathmandu Kitchen, Steve's Pizza, the Mustard Seed, Aisu Pops, Davis Creamery, Pachamama Coffee, and Flour Chyld. Picnic in the Park is every Wednesday through October 27. Soroptomists/Venture Clubs of Davis host the beer and wine booth, benefiting local charities.
Fun for kids includes pony rides, Bob's Bouncing Bungalows, face-painting, and balloon maker Dilly Dally the Clown.

Davis Farmers Market is America's Favorite Farmers Market
American Farmland Trust (AFT) along with thousands of voters have crowned the Davis Farmers Market as one of America's three favorite farmers markets.
The award is the culmination of AFT's summer-long, nationwide "America's Favorite Farmers Markets" contest. The win represents the integral role that Davis Farmers Market plays in our community and the avid support of our dedicated customers and fans during our 33 year history. The contest—in its first year—generated just shy of 30,000 votes and featured 857 participating farmers markets. The Davis Farmers Market captured over 10 percent of the total votes cast in the contest, sweeping the "Large Market" category (markets with over 55 vendors). Williamsburg Farmers Market in Virginia captured the medium market prize and Collingswood Farmers Market in New Jersey, the small market category. A heartfelt thanks to our farmers, food vendors, The Davis Enterprise, the City of Davis and all of our shoppers, supporters and fans who made this possible!
The Davis Farmers Market celebrates its 34th anniversary in 2010. This world-renown farmers market was voted America's Favorite Farmers Market in August 2009 (more info below). The market is often featured in national magazines and was voted "Best Place to Take an Out-of-Towner in Yolo County!" by The Davis Enterprise's 2009 Readers' Poll. Sacramento's Sactown Magazine (sactownmag.com) included the Davis Farmers Market in its "Best of Sacramento" story—calling the market "Mother Nature's 7-Eleven"—in its June/July 2009 issue. In its "Best of Sacramento" issue, Sacramento News & Review (newsreview.com) named Davis Farmers Market "Best Place to Remember Why Davis People Love Davis" and "Best Reason to Go to Davis."
