It's Fall Festival time at the Davis Farmers Market on Saturday, October 27th, in Central Park.
This year's Halloween themed festival features an expanded line up of fun filled activities and harvest specialties. There will be the Pumpkin Patch hosted by the Venture/Soroptimist Clubs. The Davis Farm to School Connection will be hosting it seventh annual Avenue of Scarecrows. Merrie Mary the juggler will be featured on the market deck and there will be music throughout the market.
The children's area will feature participatory crafts including harvest headdresses and hair braiding, chemistry demonstrations from the UC Davis Chemistry Club and hands on opportunities with the Explorit Science Center. The animal area will feature pony rides, piglets, goats, animals from the local 4-H club, and raptors from the California Raptor Center. There will also be gardening, and recycling exhibits from the Davis Farm to School Project, more than 60 scarecrows for auction and a craft faire. The Yolo County SPCA will host a doggie Halloween costume and contest parade at 11am. Registration is at 10am in the park. People in costume are also welcomed at the Festival.
This year's Festival Food Faire will feature fresh harvest pie by the slice, seasonal delights prepared by our Market Chef, Jaymes Luu, barbecued sausages, tamales and burritos, Indian Foods, and fresh popped kettle corn.
