Davis Farmers Market Fall Festival (Central Park, 3rd & C Streets, Davis, from 10-31-2009 08:00AM to 10-31-2009 01:00PM)

Join us at the Davis Farmers Market on Saturday, October 31st, 8 am to 1 pm for our annual Fall Festival. Come in costume and enjoy live music, craft faire, Avenue of Scarecrows (a silent auction and raffle fundraiser for Davis Farm to School Connection), piggies and 4-H farm animals, and lots of children's activities. Central Park Gardens will also hold an open house and there will be Davis Farm to School Connection demonstrations of gardening, cooking, recycling and composting. FREE!

Special screening of documentary, The Last Crop (Davis High School Performing Arts Building, from 10-09-2009 07:00PM to 10-09-2009 08:00PM)

The Last Crop is a 23-minute work-in-progress by Chuck Schultz that explores the mounting struggles of sustaining a small farm when set against the pressures of competition with sprawl, large-scale farm production, and the difficulties of passing land onto the next generation. The documentary features Davis Farmers Market founders and vendors, Annie and Jeff Main.
