Pig Day is coming March 3
Pig out at the 21st annual Pig Day on Saturday, March 3, 8 am to 1 pm. You'll find baby pigs, people in pig costumes, and pig-out eats galore at this event that celebrates food, local agriculture and PIGS! Crafts booths for kids to make piggie crafts (noses, ears and faces) sponsored by Davis nursery schools. Peter Franklin Band and Regal Beezers provide crowd-pleasing Americana music that'll get the kids dancing! Market prepared food vendors will offer: Caffé Italia's smoked, roasted pork ribs and farm-fresh pizza; Fat Face's breakfast sammies (with bacon or pulled pork); pigs-in-a-blanket from the Hotdogger; Upper Crust Bakery's piggie cookies and piggie pops (sweet French bread in the shape of a pig's head on a stick). The Yolo County Food Bank also offers a farm breakfast of pancakes, bacon, eggs and juice with proceeds benefitting the local community. A craft faire at the north end of the Market features unique crafts such as beeswax candles, goats' milk soap, pottery, quilted crafts and more.

Bring the whole family, shop the Market and enjoy the International Food Faire and beer and wine garden. Kids activities include Bouncing Bungalows, and Rocknasium's rock-climbing wall. Live music from local bands, playing a wide variety of music including Rockabilly, Blues, Folk, Bluegrass, Pop/Rock, Surf Music, World Music, Big Band, Swing, Jazz and Dixieland. Formerly known as the he East Quad Farmers Market (EQFM), the UC Davis Farmers Market will re-open at a new location at the Silo Union in Spring Quarter. This successful collaboration between Davis Farmers Market and UC Davis has increased access to fresh, local produce for busy UC Davis students, staff and faculty during fall and spring quarters. In addition to providing fresh produce from local farmers, UC Davis Farmers Market plans to bring food options outside to the market to create a lunch time destination,

Tour de Cluck is May 26!
Tour de Cluck is a Bicycle Chicken Coop Crawl culminating onMay 26 at Davis Farmers Market for the community kick-off. Check out the Fowl Food Faire (8:00 to 10:00 am) of poultry-related foods printed by Market prepared food vendors. Art Exhibit and Silent Auction (9am to 2 pm). Tour de Cluck Bicycle Chicken Coop Crawl offers a tour of Davis residents' chicken coops (arranged in coop loops throughout Davis). For more information, go to www.tourdecluck.org

FREE family fun. Pet the baby pigs, enjoy live music by the Peter Franklin Band and Putah Creek Crawdads, plus arts & crafts for kids. The Pumpkin Patch, hosted by Soroptomist/Venture Clubs of Davis, is back by popular demand. Sponsored by the Davis Farmers Market Association.
